South Metro Fire Rescue is thrilled to announce our 2nd Annual Hands-Only CPR Challenge, created for all high schools within our district. We are partnering with the South Metro Safety Fundation in order to reach as many students as possible. At the heart of this initiative is our shared commitment to ensuring every high school student is ready to save a life should the time come.

Hands-Only CPR has been shown to be just as effective as conventional CPR, and if performed immediately, can double or even triple the victim's chance of survival. If you are called on to give CPR in an emergency, you will most likely be trying to save the life of someone you love:

a child, spouse, parent, student or friend.

South Metro's Risk Reduction Team will be visiting all participating high schools in February and keeping track of how many minutes of cumulative CPR their students and staff practice with us.

Littleton High School was our top learner last year with 648 cumulative minutes of CPR practiced!
